Most responsible Australasian firms identified

By 3p Contributor
A list of Australia's 100 most socially responsible companies and New Zealand's top 20 has been published by RepuTex, the Melbourne-based ratings organization. In Australia the highest AAA rating, for outstanding performance, went to Westpac, the country's oldest bank, and in New Zealand the top-rated business was The Warehouse Group, the large retailer, with an AA- or high score. The businesses were judged on corporate governance, environmental and social impact and workplace practices.

Graeme Lee, the RepuTex chairman, said: 'CSR is now on the agenda with big business. The majority of companies operating in this region are actively seeking to enhance their CSR performance and positions.'
