Plaza wins equality honour

By 3p Contributor

Lindy Plaza, chief of CalPERS’ Diversity Outreach Program, is the recipient of the 2014 Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Hero Award. The award, presented by the Asian Pacific State Employees Association, recognizes Plaza for her work to elevate diversity awareness in public employment.

Plaza, who pioneered the CalPERS Diversity Outreach Program in 2006, was recognized for creating a model program often used by other State departments in creation of their own diversity and inclusion programs.

“Lindy has enthusiastically embraced the cause of diversity and inclusion. She is a true champion of a stronger, better workplace through the power of our differences as individuals,” said Anne Stausboll, ceo. “Lindy truly exemplifies CalPERS’ Diversity and Inclusion Statement; “The combined experiences, perspectives, and talents of all employees and stakeholders strengthen our high performance work culture and organization. Our differences are our strengths.”
