Rumboll joins Company Shop

By 3p Contributor

Company Shop, Britain’s largest commercial redistributor of surplus food and goods, has appointed Tom Rumboll its first director of business development. Rumboll joins Company Shop after it scooped “Best Business Initiative” at the Grocer Magazine awards earlier this year, and ahead of the launch of its first social enterprise, Community Shop. Community Shop aims to use surplus food for social good, providing a membership-only, secure retail environment for people on the cusp of food poverty. A pilot store is opening in Goldthorpe, near Barnsley, with plans to expand the model nationally if successful. Managing Director of Company Shop, Mark Game commented: “The Company Shop team and I are delighted to have Tom on board. With his experience, expertise and understanding of our model, I look forward to growing and developing it with him in the years to come.”
