Alakija to lead Oando Foundation

Oando Foundation, the independent charity launched by one of Africa’s leading indigenous energy providers Oando Plc in 2011, has appointed Dr. Ayoade Olatunbosun-Alakija as its new director.

The Foundation aims to support achievement of the Millennium Development Goals and the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals as they pertain to child protection and education.

Dr. Olatunbosun-Alakija is a globally renowned authority on sustainable approaches to development and a thought leader in the field, lecturing around the world.

As an internationally recognised expert in highly effective, evidence-based programming, she advises on health and education policy and programmes at regional and national levels in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific.

Alakija has worked alongside many organisations and individuals including the United Nations (UN), Commonwealth Secretariat London, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Common Market of East and Southern African Nations (COMESA).
