Chief executives of some of the world's largest companies have shared how they are successfully tackling climate change in a new booklet from the Consumer Goods Forum (CGF).
The booklet highlights 18 real-life examples from the CGF’s retailer and manufacturer members on how they are making business changes to have a positive impact on the climate. The CGF say it hopes the booklet will help inspire others to take up the baton.
Each case study includes insight from the respective company’s ceo, as well as details about their positive business actions on the issue being described and key figures to support their progress. Some of the big names included are: Ahold, Delhaize, Kellogg's, PepsiCo, Unilever and Walmart.
Peter Freedman, md of the CGF, said: “The climate challenge is one we all need to take up. The time for talk is over. If global temperatures increase more than 2°C, the consumer industry – like everyone else – will face increased business risks, disruption of supply chains, volatility of commodity prices and increased operational costs. Our retailer and manufacturer members know this, and this booklet showcases how some of them are working individually and collectively to drive positive change globally”.
