Billy Cable, the 2018 Aflac Corporate Responsibility Hero

It was just over a year ago when Hurricane Harvey hit Houston, Texas, and caused historic flooding across the region. Lisa Bates, a local independent agent licensed to sell Aflac insurance products, and her family, including her 10-month-old daughter, were stranded in their neighborhood and in need of help. Without any power and little battery left on her phone, Lisa quickly sent out a message on social media.

 
"We proceeded to go out of the house, and we sunk into chest-high water," said Lisa. "and we swam probably over a half mile to get to a vehicle, and we were piled up and driven to safety."
